Jake was a much beloved resident of Big Cat CARE in Bridgeport, Texas. His story is a familiar one for captive-bred tigers. When his owners realized tigers don't make good pets, they abandoned Jake without food for nearly two weeks--he was only 3-months old! After he was rescued, Jake's path to recovery was rocky, but he made it and enjoyed many peaceful years with his suite-mate Tinkerbell.

Jake had been declawed, a cruelty which resulted a lifetime of painful walking, muscular atrophy, and spinal curvature.

Though we did all we could to make you comfortable, Jake, we are glad you are now free from pain forever. You will always be in our hearts.
